PwC: Some 190 Multinationals To Come Out Of Romania By 2025
Some 190 new Romanian-owned multinational companies are expected to emerge out over the next 15 years, a level close to that of Ukraine (192 over the next 15 years) and Hungary (221), consultancy company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) said Tuesday in a report.

The report states, however, that most new multinational companies in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) will come out of Russia (930) and Poland (287).
"The competitive landscape is set to be transformed over the next decade as Chinese and Indian multinationals lead the way in seeking new markets abroad, and are joined by an array of companies from Singapore, Russia, Malaysia and South Korea," the report reads.
According to PwC, many dynamic companies from emerging markets will invest in Romania in the coming years to gain access to the European market.
"Globalization means mainly an increased competition between companies from different geographical areas. As such, we can expect that many more companies from dynamic emerging markets (India, China, Russia, South-East Asia) will invest in Romania in the future, in order to gain a "low-cost" access to the EU market," said Alexandru Lupea, Partner, Assurance Services, Leader of the Energy, Utilities and Mining Group with PricewaterhouseCoopers Romania.
Lupea added that competition pressure will soon rise, following the Eastern expansion, as the Eastern companies have a much more aggressive approach compared to their Western counterparts.
Most multinational companies are expected to come out of India, namely 2200. Thus India is expected to outrank China as the world's largest source of new multinationals.
