Romanian Govt Postpones Decision On Car Tax Amendments

The Romanian government has not yet made any decision regarding the pollution tax for cars, and has decided to continue analyzing the variants for the taxation of car owners, said Romanian prime minister Emil Boc.

The European Commission recently informed the government that the emergency ordinance, issued by the former Cabinet, through which the car tax is tripled, violates community legislation.
 
Environment minister Nicolae Nemirschi presented several variants for the change of the pollution tax, adding that a decision will be made after the propositions are analyzed by the government and European institutions are consulted.
