Romania’s BCR To Close Inactive Current Accounts Of Pvt Individuals

Romania’s largest lender by assets Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) will close, during November 8-9, the current accounts of private individuals that have been inactive for the past six months and store no money, the bank said Friday.

"The operation fully observes the provisions of the contracts signed with clients. The operation is free of charge, therefore, clients will pay no fees," a press release of the bank read.

However, the bank will not close the current accounts the clients use for other banking products (debit card accounts, any kind of current accounts for savings or lending products).

Moreover, the bank will not close deposit accounts, savings accounts, certificate of deposit accounts, as well as any kind of credit and card accounts.
