Renaissance Capital Consortium Scores Best In Bid For Romania Petrom SPO

A consortium led by Russia’s largest lender Renaissance Capital has won the highest score in a bid to broker the secondary offering of a 9.84% stake in Romanian dominant oil company OMV Petrom (SNP.RO), people close to the matter said Monday.

The consortium made of Renaissance Capital, BT Securities, Romcapital and EFG Securities won 92.5 out of 100 points possible, the sources told MEDIAFAX reporters.

The consortium Goldman Sachs/UniCredit CA IB Securities ranked second with a total of 68.6 points, followed by Nomura/Alpha with 67.7 points and Raiffeisen Capital&Investments/Morgan Stanley.

Romania plans to reduce its stake in Petrom to 10.8% from 20.6% currently in a deal estimated at EUR510 million, the highest transaction ever on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Petrom, majority owned by Austria’s OMV AG (OMV.VI), is the largest gas and oil producer in southeast Europe.

Monday, Petrom closed down 1.18% at RON0.419 a share in Bucharest.
