Martin said trades of counterfeit car parts trigger damages of EUR5 million per year for Renault.
The volume of seized counterfeit car parts was down nearly seven times in 2009, to 4,000 cars parts, compared with 27,000 car parts in 2008.
Renault, majority shareholder in Romanian automaker Automobile Dacia, is working closely with Romanian customs bodies, police officers and the Romanian Auto Registry to prevent and fight car parts counterfeiting.
