Romania Leu Loses Gains Vs Euro, Exch Rate At 4.2636

A lower rate, of 4.2642 per euro, was set on July 23.

Against the US dollar, the leu’s indicative won 0.74% at 3.3335 units, from 3.3582 units Tuesday.

The leu opened higher against the euro Wednesday, tracking its peers in the region, but uncertainties regarding a possible government reshuffling limited the leu’s appreciation.

At around GMT1000, the leu traded at 4.264/4.2655 per euro, after it hit an intraday high at 4.256/4.257 per euro.

On the money market Wednesday, overnight rates fell to 5.7%-6.2% a year.
