Armed Robbery At Currency Exchange Office In SE Romania

A currency exchange office near the railway station in Constanta, southeastern Romania, was robbed, Wednesday morning, by two masked men who threatened the cashier with a gun and made off with over RON40,000, without injuring anyone.

According to Radu Croitoru, spokesperson for the Constanta county police, two individuals wearing hoods broke into the currency exchange office around 10:00 local time and, while holding the cashier at gunpoint and threatening to kill her, they scooped up the cash and fled the scene.  

Croitoru also said the cashier pressed the panic button and police squads and contracted guards soon arrived on location. 

The office is equipped with surveillance cameras and investigators will try to collect as much information as possible by reviewing the surveillance footage.
