School In Romanian Capital Bucharest Closed Over Swine Flu Outbreak

Health authorities decided to close School no. 153 in Bucharest’s district 6 after identifying five cases of the new flu virus and other suspected cases.

On October 27, health authorities also closed a school in Iasi, eastern Romania, after identifying 21 cases of the new flu virus.

Romania, which confirmed its first case of infection with the AH1N1 flu virus on May 27, currently registers over 450 cases of the new flu, and their number is on the rise. Infections have been reported in several schools countrywide, among hospital nurses and a hotel in mountain resort Sinaia was closed for disinfection over the weekend because of the flu.
