The ministry said the soldiers did not get sick following military attacks or incidents on theater operations, adding they were committed to Bucharest’s "Carol Davila" Emergency Military Hospital, as soon as they returned to Romania, for thorough tests and medical care.
The ministry, however, declined to offer further details on their current condition, but, during its charity ball on October 24, it uncovered the latest tragic case of corporal and father Saranciuc Catalin Constantin, born June 13, 1979.
Constantin was deployed in Afghanistan this summer and was committed to hospital on October 12 with severe eye injuries.
The ministry announced after the ball that Constantin’s condition represents its top priority in the near future.
Following the charity ball, the ministry managed to collect 35,000 lei (EUR1=RON3.8121) in six days alone, with the help and generosity of high military officials and staff, as well as private individuals and commercial companies.
