Romania’s Senate Approves Law Speeding Up Trials

The draft law brings over 150 amendments to the articles of the Civil Procedure Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Criminal Code, the Family Code, the law regarding legal executors.

The Senate also adopted on Tuesday the draft act amending Law no. 47/1992 regulating the functioning of the Constitutional Court, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Civil Procedure Code.

The European Commission said in its report on Romania’s justice system that the country didn’t show sufficient political commitments and its progress has important shortcomings.
