The funds allocated are the maximum allowed under the U.S. Government’s guidelines for immediate emergency assistance.

The U.S. Embassy provided the funds in response to a request from the Romanian government for relief assistance due to flooding in the country.

The U.S. Government funds will be used to purchase and distribute emergency supplies such as blankets, water, food, temporary shelter, and personal hygiene items.

This assistance will be implemented by World Vision Romania, which will coordinate with local authorities and other organizations that are already providing assistance to insure that people in need receive the necessary help.
