Romania 8-Mo Passenger Car Sales -26% On Year To 68,341 Units
Romanian new passenger car sales fell 26.1% to 68,341 units in the January-August period, from 92,428 units in the year earlier period, the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association, or APIA, said Friday.

In August compared with July, new car sales were down 15.4% to 7,053 units, APIA said.
Dacia, made locally by French Renault's unit Dacia Automobile, was the best-traded brand on the local new cars market in August with 1,836 units, followed by Volkswagen with 737 units and Renault with 612 units.
Overall auto sales, including commercial vehicles and buses, reached 76,131 units in the first eight months of year, down 26.5% from the corresponding period of 2009.
In monthly terms, overall auto sales fell 15% to 7,887 units in August.
In 2009, Romanian new car sales fell 54% on the year to 147,962 units.
