Romania April Forex Reserves Dn EUR235M To EUR24.9B

Romanian foreign-exchange reserves fell EUR235 million in April to a total of EUR24.886 billion, the central bank said in a statement Monday.

End-March, foreign-exchange reserves stood at EUR25.121 billion.

The central bank said foreign-exchange inflows were EUR3.55 billion in April, while outflows totaled EUR3.78 billion.

In addition to its foreign-exchange reserves, the central bank reported holdings of 103.7 metric tons of gold with a total market value of EUR2.23 billion.

Thus, total Romanian international reserves amounted to EUR27.11 billion at the end of April.

In May 2009, the payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt amount to EUR146 million, the central bank also said.
