Online Auction On Autographed Nadia Comaneci Doll To Be Held Thursday

An online auction on a doll made in the likeness of Romanian former gymnast Nadia Comaneci will be held Thursday, to raise funds for gymnastics clubs throughout the country, according to a statement issued Wednesday to MEDIAFAX.

The auction will take place on www.idieta.ro, a media partner of the Nadia Comaneci Foundation, over one day, beginning at midnight Romanian time. The money will be used in the social program „10 for gymnastics”, aimed at supporting young athletes in gymnastics clubs all over the country.

A former Olympics champion, Comaneci said she hopes the auction will raise a lot of money, in order to support sports in Romania.

„Together we can work towards bringing Romanian gymnasts back to the top in international competitions,” Comaneci said.

The doll, made in the exact likeness of Nadia Comaneci and autographed by the gymnast, is 57 centimeters tall and is dressed in a Romanian national team gym suit.
