Rescuers Go In For Last Four Bodies Of Miners Killed In Blast, W Romania

The operation could take several hours as rescuers must tunnel their way through coal that crumbled following the blast. Sources close to the matter said rescuers know exactly where they need to get to bring out the four bodies still underground.

 

Four bodies were brought out Saturday night, and were buried Tuesday. Rescuers managed to bring out another four bodies Monday evening.

 

A powerful blast killed eight miners Saturday and a second blast claimed the lives of four others, who had entered the mine for rescue operations. Another 14 people were injured, and six of them are in very serious condition in hospitals in Bucharest.
