Romania Ctrl Bank Head Says 2005/06 Monetary Policy Tightening Not Good

Romanian central bank’s monetary policy tightening in 2005-2006 had a negative impact on prices, because it led to a non-sustainable appreciation of the leu and a boom of the foreign currency lending, the bank’s chief said Tuesday.
