Against the US dollar, the leu’s indicative won 1.2% at 3.4001 units, from 3.4414 units Friday.
The leu opened stronger on the day at 4.285/4.29 to the euro amid growing investors’ confidence after the International Monetary Fund approved the disbursement of a new loan tranche to Romania, worth EUR913 million.
At around GMT1000, the leu traded at 4.262/4.263 per euro, after hitting an intraday high at 4.2615 units.
On the money market Monday, overnight rates were at 4.2%-4.7% a year, down on the day.
