Romania Dec '10 Indus Orders Rise At 4th Fastest Pace In EU

In the European Union, industrial new orders rose 18.5% in December compared with the same month of 2009, EU's statistics office Eurostat said.

Among the member states for which data are available, new orders rose in twenty countries and fell in Greece (-6.5%) and Denmark (-0.9%). The highest increases were registered in Estonia (+114.8%), Lithuania (+50.1%), Finland (+46.3%) and Romania.

In December compared with a month earlier, Romanian industrial orders increased 6.1%, above EU's growth average of 2.5%.

New orders rose in fifteen member states and fell in seven EU states, Eurostat said. The highest increases were registered in Estonia (+26.4%), the Netherlands (+9.7%) and Italy (+9.1%), and the largest decreases in Hungary (-18.5%), Ireland (-12.4%) and Bulgaria (-6%).
