Romania, European leader in energy funds: over 10 billion euros attracted
Of this amount, over 6.25 billion euros have already been effectively paid to Romania, for projects aimed at producing energy from renewable sources, modernizing district heating networks and increasing energy efficiency in industry.
„Every euro invested in European funds is an additional chance to have lower bills and transform Romania into a regional power in the energy sector,” said Sebastian Burduja.
At the meeting of the Investment Committee of the Modernization Fund, held last week in Luxembourg, Romania received approval for another 812 million euros, of which five of the six proposed projects came from the Ministry of Energy.
According to Minister Burduja, the funds are directed as follows: 230 million euros to support photovoltaic and wind projects through the Contracts for Difference scheme, 150 million euros for new renewable production capacities, 40 million euros for public self-consumption projects with green energy, 140 million euros for the modernization of district heating networks, 50 million euros for energy efficiency in industry.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture attracted 100 million euros for green projects in agriculture and the food industry.
“This performance is the result of a clear strategy: investments, investments, investments,” the minister emphasized.
“We have demonstrated that Romania can. All these results are not accidental. They reflect the continuous work of an exceptional team,” Minister Burduja also wrote on Facebook.
The Minister concluded the message with a note of optimism and responsibility: “Energy is a theme of national security, of economic competitiveness, which influences the lives of each Romanian and that of future generations, to whom we must leave a safe, prosperous and clean country. Forward, together.”
