Romania Forex Reserves Grow to EUR35.5B in January

Romania's foreign exchange reserves grew to EUR35.505 billion at the end of January from EUR32.926 billion at the end of December, central bank data showed Monday.

The country had foreign currency inflows of EUR4.586 billion, including EUR3 billion raised selling euro-denominated bonds on the international market, and outflows of EUR2.007 billion in January.

Romania's gold reserve remained steady at 103.6 metric tons and its value adjusted for international gold prices stood at EUR4.77 billion in January compared with EUR4.52 billion in December.

Overall international reserves stood at EUR40.278 billion end-January from EUR37.45 billion end-December.

Payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt in February 2020 amount to EUR216 million.
