“We agreed to stimulate the participation of French companies in joint projects which receive EU funds,” Tariceanu said at the end of his meeting with the French premier in Paris.

He said the two countries might develop such joint projects in fields like agriculture, energy, automotive industry, transportation or aeronautics.

French Premier François Fillon said in his turn that the strategic partnership between the two countries reflects both on bilateral economic ties and on Francophone relations.

In February, Romania and France signed a strategic partnership that aims to intensify bilateral collaboration.

The agreement targets various fields of activity, such infrastructure, defense industry, workers’ migration, education, administration and nuclear energy, Tariceanu said at the time.
