Romania Health Ministry To Pay EUR25M For IT&C Equipment
The deal between the ministry and equipment suppliers is to be signed shortly, Nicolaescu said.
He said all family physicians are to receive laptops and printers by May 15 and that all sanitary units in the healthcare system will have their IT&C equipment updated gradually.
“We plan to purchase laptops – 11,120 units, matrix printers – 11,120 units, servers – some 150 units, computers – 500 units, office printers – 500 units, data storage devices and communication equipment for 43 different locations,” Nicolaescu said.
In addition, the ministry will purchase basic software systems for the IT&C equipment, as well as antivirus licenses, software solutions for family medicine and for Romania’s program against diabetes, etc.
The health ministry is in charge with providing IT&C equipment to hospitals and family physicians, while the National Health Insurance House will set up an interconnection system between hospitals, drugstores, MDs and authorities.
