Romania Jan-July Budget Gap Widens To 3.9% Of GDP
Romanian consolidated budget posted a deficit of 20 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.246) in the January-July period, amounting to 3.9% of the gross domestic product, Finance Ministry data showed Friday.

End-June, the budget deficit was RON18.07 billion.
Total revenue to the consolidated budget rose 1.2% on the year to RON93.3 billion at the end of July, while expenditure was up 3.2% to RON113.3 billion, the ministry said.
Romania's government recently announced a series of austerity measures to slash public spending and bring the budget deficit down to 6.8% of GDP this year, from 7.2% of GDP in 2009.
