The Romanian Defense Ministry said in a press release Monday Oprea met Marinuta at the ministry's headquarters where they signed a military collaboration protocol which states the two countries will provide each other with information regarding military flights near the border between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, and will make radar data exchanges.

According to the ministry, the protocol will also enable the two countries to offer each other military support and carry out common military drills.

Marinuta said bilateral military relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova must further develop, adding it is important for Moldova to have future troops trained in Romanian schools, in areas the Moldovan education system cannot cover.

The Moldovan defense minister and a military delegation are on a two-day official visit to Romania.
