Romanian PM Says Govt Has Plan B To Keep IMF Loan On Track

The Government has a plan B to deal with the delays in the adoption of the unitary wage law triggered by the Parliament’s decision to push back debates on a no-confidence motion until late next week, Prime Minister Emil Boc said Thursday.

Boc accused the opposition of acting irresponsibly, saying delays in the adoption of wage laws may delay the next loan disbursement from the International Monetary fund and affect the budget deficit.

The prime minister said in Parliament after the plenary meeting was suspended that the Government has a plan B, but didn’t give any details.

„I assure you that, as prime minister, I know what I have to do,” Boc told lawmakers.

The opposition was supposed to read out a second motion of no-confidence over public wages Friday but the meeting was suspended on lack of quorum and postponed for next week.
