Romania’s Marius Copil and Horia Tecau managed to get back on saddle after their win against Russian Marat Safin and Dmitri Tursunov in the Davis Cup doubles on Saturday.

The Romanian pair scored 4-6, 6-7 (2/7), 7-6 (7/4), 7-6 (7/5), 6-4 during a 4-hour and 2 minutes match in Sibiu.

After three matches in Davis Cup’s first round, Russia leads Romania 2-1.

On Friday, the Russians Marat Safin and Mihail Iujnâi stormed past Victor Crivoi and Victor Hanescu in the singles 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-2, 6-4, respectively.

The reverse singles will play on Sunday.

Whoever wins the best-of-five tie will take on the stander of the Sweden-Israel clash in the Davis Cup’s quarters.
