Romania Private Lending Grows 0.1% on Month in December 2018
Romanian private lending grew a marginal 0.1% (declined 0.02% in real terms) in December 2018 compared with November, to RON251.05 billion, central bank data showed Friday.

Local currency lending grew 0.7% (0.5% in real terms) on the month in December, while foreign currency lending decreased 0.9% when expressed in lei and by 1.1% when expressed in euros, the central bank said.
Compared with December 2017, private lending in Romania grew 7.9% (4.5% in real terms), as local currency lending grew 13.4% (9.8% in real terms), and foreign currency lending dropped by 1.3% when expressed in lei and by 1.4% when expressed in euros.
Deposits of non-government resident customers stood at RON329.67 billion in December, 1.6% higher than in November, the data showed.
Deposits grew 9% (5.5% in real terms) in December 2018 compared with December 2017.
Government credit grew 1.5% in December compared with November, to RON105.5 billion. Compared with December 2017, government credit grew 7.6% in nominal terms and by 4.2% in real terms.
