Romania Public Debt Falls Slightly In June To RON177B
Romania’s public debt slightly fell to 176.9 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.2244) in June, from a peak of RON178.3 billion a month earlier, according to Finance Ministry data.

In June, the ministry sold less than RON1 billion in state paper, significantly lower than its plan of RON4.6 billion.
The public debt accounted for 34.66% of the gross domestic product in June, compared with 34.94% of the GDP in May. The public debt-to-GDP ratio was calculated using an estimated GDP of RON510.4 billion for this year.
Government public debt was 93.8% of the total debt in the January-June period, while local authorities' debt accounted for 6.2%.
At the end of 2009, Romania's public debt stood at RON147.3 billion.
