Romanian foreign minister Cristian Diaconescu said Friday after a council meeting at the ministry that Moldova hasn’t sent any official information regarding Romanian citizens arrested in Chisinau, although unofficial sources and the media report there are such cases.

“We haven’t received any official answer from authorities in Chisinau in this respect,” Diaconescu said when asked whether he has any information on Romanian citizens under arrest in Moldova.

"We will send a verbal note every day to authorities in Chisinau, requiring details,” the minister said.

A Romanian citizen, Jordan N., was detained by Moldovan authorities within an investigation regarding the undermining of state power, the Moldovan prosecutors’ office said on its website Friday.

During the search of his home Thursday, investigators seized maps of Moldovan capital Chisinau, photographs of administrative buildings, including the parliament and presidency, and bottles with flammable substances, prosecutors said.
