Romania Requests Talks With EU Commissioner On Car Tax

Romanian Department for European Affairs chief Adrian Ciocanea, said Tuesday, in a press conference, that he asked Romanian ambassador in the EU Lazar Comanescu to set up a meeting with European commissioner responsible for Taxation and Customs Union Laszlo Kovacs’ team, regarding the car tax.

Romania Requests Talks With EU Commissioner On Car Tax

Ciocanea said that a Romanian delegation would go to Brussels for this meeting, and it will surely include the government agent.
 
He added that the Romanian delegation would also include one secretary of state within the Ministry of Economy and Finance and another one from the Ministry of Environment.
 
Ciocanea expressed hope that the meeting would take place this week,  adding that Romania sent comprehensive literature, "not just the grid, which is very important, but also a draft ordinance amending the normative act."
 
Romanian economy and finance minister Varujan Vosganian stated Monday that Romanian authorities and European Commission officials will complete, this week, the talks on the car registration tax. After the talks, the Romanian authorities will set the level of the tax and will compile the draft normative act.
