Romania Retrieved 12th Gold Dacian Bracelet
The spiral shaped bracelet weighs 887 grams and was retrieved in exchange for EUR68,994.
The bracelet is part of the Dacian thesaurus which was stolen in May 2001 from the archeological site Sarmizegetusa Regia in the county Hunedoara, western Romania.
The bracelet will join the other 11 ancient gold Dacian bracelets the state has already recovered, which are kept at the museum.
Crisan Museteanu, head of the museum, told MEDIAFAX that the bracelet and the details concerning its recovery will be presented next week in a press conference.
