Romania’s 10-Mo Car Output At 2009 Level
Romania’s car output reached 290,504 units in the first ten months of 2010, close to the level registered in 2009, when the local car output reached 296,458 units, according to data from the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association, or APIA.

Of the total cars made in Romania, 97.4%, or 283,034 units, were produced by Automobile Dacia, owned by French Renault, with the Sandero model holding the highest share, almost half of local car production (123,199 units), followed by the Duster, with 60,568 units, the Logan (45,371 units) and the Logan MCV (39,021 units). Commercial vehicles Logan Van and Logan Pick-Up account for almost 15,000 units. Ford contributed to the local car production with 7,436 units.
Of the country's overall car output, 89% went to export, which rose 22.4% to 258,606 vehicles on the year in January to October 2010.
Romania's overall auto sales, including commercial vehicles and buses, declined 22% to 98,980 units on the year in the first ten months of 2010, APIA said Monday.
