"This year’s budget is of EUR3.3 million, of which EUR2.2 million are artists’ fees,” said Laura Coroianu, executive manager with Emagic. Last year’s festival had a budget of about EUR3 million and the 2007 edition had a budget of EUR2.35 million.
Coroianu added that about 70,000 people are expected to attend the five-day festival.
With a line-up over over 30 artists, including headliners such as The Killers, Moby, Motorhead, Franz Ferdinand, Orbital, Santana and Manowar, Coroianu said the biggest audiences are expected on July 1 and July 4, when headliners are The Killers and Santana, respectively.
Although organizers declined to say how many tickets were sold, they said the effects of the financial crisis haven’t been felt.
