The investigation is set to take at most five months from the date of notification.
Electra will be formed by a merger between thermal power producers Rovinari, Turceni and Craiova, added with National Brown Coal Company SNLO, nuclear power producer Nuclearelectrica, Hidroserv Ramicu Valcea and the Hidroelectrica branches in Ramnicu Valcea, Sibiu and Targu Jiu.
Hidroenergetica will include the Hidroelectrica branches in Bistrita, Buzau, Curtea de Arges, Hateg, Portile de Fier, Cluj, Oradea, Sebes, Slatina and Caransebes, as well as the Hidroserv branches in Bistrita, Curtea de Arges, Sebes, Hateg, Cluj, Portile de Fier and Slatina.
Hidroenergetica will also include Electrocentrale Deva, Electrocentrale Bucharest, National Pit Coal Company CNH, the Paroseni thermal power producer and the Termoserv Paroseni branch from Termoelectrica.
CH Hidroenergetica will be mainly active in the production, distribution and supply of electricity and thermal power.
The Government wants to set up Electra and Hidroenergetica by July 1.
