Croitoru said democrat liberals proved willing and flexible in forming a government coalition, adding he discussed with the democrat liberal leaders about the list of ministries and the human resources that can come from the Democratic Liberal Party.
"I plan to get a majority to represent the Government in Parliament," Croitoru said, adding he wants to start negotiations with the Social Democratic Party.
Croitoru said he will ask social democrats to make two or three propositions for the headship of the Interior Ministry.
Social democrat leader Mircea Geoana said Sunday that social democrats, liberals, conservatives, the Hungarian minority party and the other minority groups invited Croitoru to a meeting at the Parliament Palace Tuesday. Croitoru told MEDIAFAX Sunday evening he accepted the invitation of the leaders of the four parties.
The headship of the Interior Ministry is perceived as a much coveted position as the ministry is in charge of organizing and overseeing presidential elections due on November 22. Romania's center-left coalition government of social democrats and democrat liberals split early this month because the prime minister sacked the social democrat interior minister.
