Romania’s Education Ministry Determined To Crack Down Drug Consumption

Education minister Cristian Adomniţei signed a collaboration protocol with the National Agency fighting Drugs and the Rotary International Association to prevent drug consumption among teenagers.
The protocol backs the project called “Friends, help children say YES to life” and it targets both teenagers aged 14 to 16 and their parents. They will all be presented eloquent materials and footages portraying the damaging effects of drug consumption.
The Education Ministry undertook to implement this project countrywide during the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school years within school counseling and guidance classes. Each school included in the program must appoint didactic staff to hold such classes, preferably school psychologists, who will take part in a training program.
