Subway Hit Kills Man In Bucharest

A 68 year-old man died Thursday in Bucharest when he entered the subway tunnel unauthorized and was hit by a train, Bucharest police spokesman Christian Ciocan told MEDIAFAX.

Head of the subway police Constantin Croitoru said witnesses saw the man sitting on a chair at the end of the platform, getting up and heading down the stairs leading to the train tunnel.
 
"He managed to get as far as some 20, 30 meters in the tunnel, but the train came and he was hit and projected onto the wall," Croitoru said.
 
Investigators are hearing several witnesses and emergency medical teams are waiting for a team of forensics.
