Romanian Feb Industrial Output +7.7% On Year

The institute said output in the energy and manufacturing sectors grew 11.6% and 8.7% on the year in February, respectively. Output in the mining sector fell 5.4% in the same period.

In January-February, the country’s industrial output grew 6.9% on the year on a 10.7% and 8.0% growth in the energy and manufacturing sectors, respectively. Output in the mining sector dropped by 6.7% on the year in the first two months of 2008.

On the month, Romania’s industrial output grew 7.2% in February, fueled by manufacturing and mining growth. Energy output fell 6.1% on the month.

Industrial output data for February are preliminary, the institute said.
