Romania’s Fin Min Calls For Public Administration Overhaul

Romania’s public administration and its tax system need a full reform and not just adjustments, Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu said Wednesday.

Improving the tax system is not enough to reach a budget revenue ratio of 35%-36% of the gross domestic product, so it must be completely overhauled, Vladescu said in Vienna.

As regards public administration, Vladescu sustains the need for a serious reform that includes changes of mentality.

"Both reforms need a lot of political will," Vladescu added, saying the comments express his personal point of view, and not the government's stance.
