Half Of Romania’s Doljchim Staff To Have No Activity Between Jan 10 – Feb 15
The ammonia production unit of the chemical plant might close down as of Monday, Baiasu added.
“As of January 10, 609 employees, of whom 200 are already on leave, will stay at home until February 15, and will get 75% of the wage and bonuses (…) totaling 26%. (…)” Baiasu said.
“In the beginning of this month or the next I will have talks in Bucharest to see what we do after February 15. We shall see what will be our programe after this date. Unfortunately, the economic crisis hits us all. We are too small to do something about it,” he added.
The chemical plant Doljchim has 1,130 employees.
The unionist leader thinks Doljchim is not part of Petrom’s long term strategy.
“Unfortunately, Doljchim is not part of the long term strategy of Petrom. They tried to put us up for sale. Until now, funds have been assigned only to the environmental part, and not to technology. This says a lot of things,” Baiasu said.
Economy minister Adriean Videanu said Saturday Petrom will shut down the chemical plant Doljchim, which will bring about important gas savings.
