Romania’s Foreign Ministry Issues Recommendations For Tourists Going To Beijing OG
China’s Consulate issues tourist visas valid for three months, but the passport must be valid for at least another six months after arriving in China. Parents may sign in the name of their children, and a tax is chargeable in the case of children.
The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs recommended Romanian citizens to avoid the Sichuan province, affected by a major earthquake in May 2008, and warned that the Chinese southeastern coast is affected by typhoons between May and November.
Bird flu is also of concern, especially in villages.
The ministry also insisted that Romanians pay for a health insurance covering all expenses for their entire stay in China.
The Olympic Games will take place in Beijing between 8 and 24 August 2008.
