Romania ‘09 Adjusted Industrial Output Down 5.7% YY

It said output in the mining industry declined by 11.8% in 2009 compared with the year earlier, while manufacturing production was down 7.1%. However, energy production rose 5.9% on the year.

In December 2009, adjusted industrial output nudged down 0.5% from a month earlier, but rose 8.3% compared with the same period of 2008, INS said.

The yearly increase was fueled by a 15.2% growth in manufacturing output and a nearly similar rise in energy production. However, the mining output fell 15% on the year in December.
