Romania’s Govt To Hire Extra Staff Mainly In Sectors Managing EU Funds
Romanian Government decided in its meeting Wednesday meeting to hire extra public servants mainly in sectors involved in attracting and managing European funds, Government spokeswoman Ioana Muntean said.

The number of public servants that will be employed to handle EU funds represents 15% of the total vacant jobs in the public sector.
Muntean said public servants will be appointed through Government decision after vacant jobs are distributed mainly to sectors managing EU funds.
The Government said two weeks ago it will ensure funds to hire about 100 public servants that will work in sectors involved in attracting European funds.
Under the law, base salaries for public servants managing EU funds can be raised up to 75%. Public servants' activity is assessed at least once a year and salaries are modified according to the results of the assessment.
