Romania’s Govt To Recalculate Special Pensions By September, Military Pensions By Yearend
Romanian special pensions will be recalculated by September and will be reduced afterwards, while military pensions will be recalculated by the end of the year, Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc said Wednesday.

According to the prime minister, 6,250 special pensions of magistrates, lawmakers, air force staff and former Court of Accounts staff will be recalculated by September 1.
Boc said that 168,000 military pensions will be recalculated by the end of 2010. The prime minister added that military pensions below 3,000 lei (EUR1=RON4.2685) will not be reduced.
The Government estimates that, by recalculating special pensions, the state will save RON86.8 million in 2010, RON260.6 million in 2011, RON267.9 million in 2012, RON274.6 million in 2013 and RON281 million in 2014.
The Government approved in its Wednesday's meeting the norms to recalculate special pensions.
