Romanian tennis player Victor Hanescu on Sunday won his first career title, following his 6-3, 6-4 victory against Russian Igor Andreev at the Gstaad Open in Switzerland.

Romania’s Hanescu Wins First Career Title At Gstaad Open

Hanescu, 27, becomes the first Romanian to win the Gstaad trophy since Ilie Nastase in 1973.

This was the second ATP singles final match in Hanescu’s career, following a runner-up finish in Bucharest last year against French Gilles Simon.

Hanescu, currently 80th seeded, will be awarded EUR65,000 and 175 ATP points.
