Romania’s Jan Net Salary Dn 3.5% M-M To RON1,426

The gross average salary was at RON1,967 in January, down 2.8% compared with the previous month.

The net salary in January was lower from December, when employees were given holiday or loyalty bonuses and a higher output was reported.

Employees in the airline sector saw the biggest average net salaries of RON3,184, while the garment manufacturing industry were at the opposite pole, with RON809.

January net average salary in agriculture was down 13.3% on the month to RON1,033, while the employees in the energy sector saw a 16.3% salary decrease on the month in January, to RON2,472.

Net salaries in industry averaged RON1,306 in January, down 10.4% from December.

The average net salary in Romania increased 5.2% on the year in January 2009.
