Romania's June Jobless Rate At 6% From 5.8% In May
Romania’s unemployment rate was at 6% in May, the highest in three years and three months, and 0.2 percentage points higher than 5.8% in May, the National Employment Agency ANOFM said Monday.

Romania’s unemployment rate was at 6% in May, the highest in three years and three months, and 0.2 percentage points higher than 5.8% in May, the National Employment Agency ANOFM said Monday.
Thus, the total number of unemployed people was of 548,930 end-June, compared with 526,803 in May.
A higher unemployment rate was recorded in March 2006, of 6.1%, or 545,884 individuals.
Since 1991, the highest jobless rate was recorded in February 2000, of 12.5%, namely 1,196,630 individuals.
On average, the unemployment rate since 1991 was higher in winter season, but followed a descending trend in the summer months. Thus, a higher unemployment rate in June was observed in 2004, of 6.6%, or 590,267 individuals.
In June 2008, the jobless rate was at 3.7%, or 337,084 individuals.
