Romania’s Leftist Opposition To Complete Parliament Election Candidates List By Aug 25

Members of Romania’s leftist opposition Social Democratic Party intent on running for lawmaker positions in the upcoming parliament elections have to submit their applications by Jul 25, and final validation will be given by Aug 25, the party’s spokesperson, Cristian Diaconescu, said Monday.

In the first stage, local party leaders will analyze candidacy, and the party’s central leaders are to draw up the final list of candidates in uninominal constituencies by Aug 25.

Diaconescu said candidates will be evaluated taking into account their professional and political skills, public perception and wealth statements.
