Basescu said he wishes for a partnership with the government and the parliament.
“It’s what we’ve lacked in the past two years,” Basescu said after the new government members pledged their oaths.
The government’s mission is to lower to a possible minimum the impact of the global financial crisis on the population, he said.
“Certainly, no one will be able to bring down to zero the crisis’ effects,” he mentioned.
Basescu said the newly appointed government is Romania’s strongest one after the anti-communist Revolution, given that it won majority support in parliament, adding that he sees no reason for the country to see a change in better under its command.
