Romania’s new justice minister Catalin Marian Predoiu is member in the Managing Board of savings house CEC, business partner with a law firm, as well as shareholder in two business and management consulting companies.

Considering that Predoiu has recently taken the helm of the justice ministry, he must now resign from his position within CEC and that of lawyer on grounds of incompatibility.
"During his mandate of justice minister, Mr. Catalin Marian Predoiu's activity of lawyer will be suspended on grounds of incompatibility," according to the press statement of law firm Zamfirescu Racoti Predoiu.
Predoiu has so far been business partner with the aforementioned law firm and member of the Council of the Bucharest Bar Association as of 2003.
Predoiu is a specialist in banking and financial transactions and ensures legal assistance for banks and various institutions.
Earlier Friday, Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu forwarded president Basescu the proposal to appoint Predoiu as the new justice minister.
Romania’s president Traian Basescu on Friday signed the decree appointing lawyer Catalin Predoiu as justice minister.
